About t.champoux design
I'm an illustrator and graphic designer from Saint Paul, Minnesota. My work balances classic elements with a little bit of whimsy, and I have a deep love for layout design. I'm an avid bookworm and my first love will always be translating print into both traditional and digital media.
My route to getting into graphic design has been a bit unconventional; I was a Studio Art major in college and then became a high school art teacher. When I took my first teaching position, I was also asked to teach the Yearbook class at school. It was a huge learning curve as I started to understand the complexities of publication design, deadlines, and managing the business side of yearbook. But, I discovered that I really loved it - so much so that, when I moved to a different school after two years, I picked up the Yearbook adviser gig there as well.
I realized that my favorite part of work was making the Yearbook a success, and that's led me to where I'm at right now: pursuing a career in graphic design and illustration. My illustrative work focuses on miniature gouache paintings, often of landscapes, and I'm working on integrating some of those traditional media designs into more of my digital work.
My experiences have built many values in my work habits, including communication, quality, and maintaining good working relationships. I also strongly feel that my goal is to make work that is satisfying to the client's needs and values, and I stick to that. If you have any questions or want to talk about a project, don't hesitate to reach out!
